Not a mere reference, WordWit by Ballpoint does not depend on Dictionary or Wikipedia entries. Written from scratch by a team of professionals, even our quotes are researched and expressly selected to reveal nuances of meaning and use.
WordWit is designed and populated to appeal to users at all levels. Gorgeous graphics and functionality ask you in then invite you to stay. Aha moments and “Master It” successes drive you on. But your conscience will be clear as you linger in the app, since you won’t be wasting your time OR your mind!

HOW IT WORKS
1. Spin the spiral on the home screen with your fingertip to reveal random word pairs; or, search or browse the entire list for a specific word.
2. Tap a word to bring up a witty explanation and a pithy quote.
3. Tap the coffee-cup icon to go to the Master It section.
4. Answer five questions correctly; those words are added to your Master’s Lounge.
5. Progress through the levels for badges and to reveal more graphics.
6. Create your own “favorite word” list for quick reference.
7. See what’s trending―which word pairs are being looked up most.
8. Share words and your progress on your social networks.
9. Submit words you don’t see, and we’ll include them in future updates
Even educated app makers do it: TYPOS! The chicklet alerting users to their first app update spelled the word "available" wrong. Our programmers fell outside our Quality Control proofing process, so the misspelling went live before we could catch it. It'll take a couple of days to fix, so in the meantime, enjoy the schadenfreude of the teacher being wrong. Meanwhile, remember that graciousness is a virtue.
